As a writer specializing in marketing to women, I have a hard and fast rule: If I don’t have a strong connection to a potential client or get ridiculously happy over his or her business, I pass on the project.

For too many years, I wrote about things that didn’t interest me. Now, with my own business, I just won’t do that – it’s not fair to me or potential clients.
