I own a chicken shop.
I also worked at Red Rooster a while ago
It is very very hard to gauge how many chicken you need each day. We could cook 50 chickens and have them sitting there, waiting for you to come in, or, we cook 10 at a time, ensuring quality is up to your standards, replacing them every hour of so.
All it took before you drove up, and wound down your window, was for one customer to come in and order 6 chickens without calling ahead, and POOOFFFF their gone!!
So listen up people, stop being so angry, shocked or surprized about chicken run outs, and get mad about real issues like petrol prices and world hunger!
Thank you

OMG! I'm sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at this post - mostly in disbelief. How can a chicken shop run out of chicken?

They are valuable lessons for every business to learn.

How frustrating. I must admit, I worked for Red Rooster back when it was Big Rooster and I was still in high-school (yes, that was a few years ago). We often came close to running out of chickens but as soon as you saw that there was that possibility the manager would be on the phone to all other Big Roosters in the area to arrange to go pick up some more. Similarly, other stores would come to ours to grab a few extra chooks at least once a month. I couldn't imagine actually running out!
