Google Alerts
October 16th, 2007 by Ingrid Cliff
Hi everyone
One of the best free tools I regularly use is Google Alerts.
In Google alerts you can set up an email to be sent to your email address whenever there is a new listing found on the web with the criteria you set up.
For example – I have an alert set up with my name on it to track where my articles are being posted around the web and get a daily digest of all of the sites publishing my articles.
Other uses:
- In business set up an alert for your company name and track whenever someone mentions your name in a blog (so you can respond quickly to any praise or adverse publicity)
- Use it to keep an eye out for new competitors in the market
- Track key trends and ideas
The important thing is to remember to use “quotes” around your search terms to make sure you are targeting your searches.
Now you can sit back and relax while key data makes it way back to your mailbox.
Have a great day
Ingrid

I also subscribe to Google alerts – its great isn’t it? I keep all my alerts in a folder in Outlook so I can look back and see where my website is popping up.
